Mens Football

Come and chat to the mens club here!

St Aidan's Football Club is an inclusive, exciting, and worthwhile club to be a part of. It is an integral part of the university experience for hundreds of members of this college, and for good reason too. With 6 men's teams of varying ability and 1 ladies team, there is a spot for anyone of any skill level here. If you make yourself available for your team on a weekend, you are guaranteed minutes.

Each side trains once a week, and plays a competitive game most weekends. Obviously this season will be very different to most, as competitive games do seem unlikely, but all of the exec will try their best to see everyone playing as much football as possible this year.

The football club is renowned for exciting and inclusive socials. From quizzes to games to races these nights never fail to be enjoyable for all attendees. Importantly, there is no pressure for anyone to drink alcohol in any social. Obviously this year does not lend itself to social events, but rest assured the social secretaries of each team are working hard to find the most fun ways for teams to socialise, Covid permitting.

Maidens Captain: Alex Hartley

The Maidens are more than welcoming to anyone wishing to try football for the first time, or to those who have been playing for years. We would love to see some new faces on the team!

A's captains: Jonny Holland, Charlie Dunn

We play in the premier division of the league and compete in the intercollegiate floodlit cup, which we reached the final of last season. We take on lads from Sunday league, county and ex-academy level but always look for those committed to helping us build on the success of previous years! We also combine with the B’s socially to have some of the best socials college has to offer.

B's captain: Alex Smith

Our B's are just off the back of a successful promotion season and are excited for their new challenge of Division 1.

C's captain: AJ Soriano

The C Team are mainstays in the middle division in their quest to be the most mediocre side on the field, and the most fantastic off it. They have achieved this consistently for the last few years with aplomb.

D's captains: Jared Gibson, Joe Viles, William Jones

The D Team suffered an unjust relegation to the bottom division last season and are determined to seek justice and rise up the league's immediately.

E's captain: Zac Persky

The E Team hold the record for the greatest ever defeat in college football. However they are a very friendly, sociable, and welcoming side. They are in need of players of any ability and are coming off the back of a very promising year with high ambitions for the coming season.
